How to Maintain Your Weight During Eid and Enjoy the Food Without Guilt

If you have been asking yourself: can I keep my results during Eid and still enjoy the holiday at the same time? Our answer is yes, you can, with simple steps we cover in this article.

We usually give our members more than one option to enjoy the Eid holiday without their results being affected. In this article we cover two scenarios, pick whichever suits you.

Scenario One

On the first day of Eid (a mostly open day), have two meals until you feel full (not stuffed), with a sweet once or twice during the day, then fast for 14 hours.

On the second day of Eid, go back to your regular diet.

Scenario Two

On the first day of Eid, have one open meal (until you feel full) with a reasonable amount of sweets (or 5-6 small pieces of Eid sweets), then fast for 14 hours.

The second day of Eid is the same as the first: one open meal until full, with a sweet, then a 14-hour fast.

On the third day of Eid, go back to your regular diet.

Points Worth Keeping in Mind

  1. Most of us do not exercise on the first and second day of Eid, so try to move naturally during the day without forcing it
  2. Do not skip drinking water (water matters for reducing water retention, especially with the extra calories and carbohydrates)
  3. Enjoy yourself and share the happiness with the people around you
  4. This is the most important point: do not step on the scale for 7-10 days after Eid, because your weight will naturally be a little higher. After 7-10 days you will get an accurate reading

A Very Important Point

If you handle this diet break the right way, it will actually have a positive effect on your results. You are not just maintaining your results, this break can help you get even better results. Why?

Because this period of rest has a positive effect on:

  1. Your mental health (better mood, calm, rest)
  2. Your physical health (hormone health and recovery)
  3. Renewing your motivation to stay consistent

So enjoy your Eid holiday. Eid mubarak.
